KIRA KNOTTS

Kira Knotts (they/them) is a shark keeper at the New York Aquarium on Coney Island. A Trekkie from birth, they found their own way into the fandom through Deep Space Nine. From there, Kira has openly embraced IDIC, using Star Trek and other utopian science fiction to bolster themselves against queer-phobia. And it is through Trek that they have found their chosen family, creating lifelong bonds of friendship with other Trekkies around the world. Kira became involved with GaaaysInSpaaace in 2019 after moving to NYC and is excited to help continue the mission of creating diverse and inclusive spaces in both the entertainment and aerospace industries.
