In the 8 years since the founding of our 501(c)(3) non-profit GAAAYS IN SPAAACE  (GIS) in 2016, we have produced 200+ events across the country and have built a safe and inclusive culture which began with the LGBTQIA+ community and has since expanded to include ALL underrepresented communities.

GIS began as a series of celebrations, became a community, and is now a birthplace for programs and initiatives that effect real change in our world today.

We are committed to maintaining the momentum we have established to achieve more than ever.

In May 2023, we succeeded in launching an annual weekend long convention that united the worlds of Science Fiction, Diversity & Inclusion, and the Space Industry in an unprecedented way.

The ‘GALACTIC DIVERSITY & INCLUSION Convention’ was the culmination of eight years of building bridges & uniting people via their mutual love of science fiction that depicts an optimistic view of the future where true equality has become a reality. 

GIS continues to achieve great things for the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies thanks to the generous funding from our sponsors and partners.

We are working diligently to help create the future that visionaries like Gene Roddenberry & Seth MacFarlane envisioned for all humankind. A future where LGBTQIA+ people are not simply included but where true equity allows us to chart our course forward.

With your support to fund our 2024 / 2025 operating budget, the legacy of our ‘GALACTIC DIVERSITY & INCLUSION Convention’ will continue for its third straight year, and we will make 2025 a year of focused impact that will take our community to new heights.
